I’m the founder/editor/publisher/glutton of WFLBC. I like Scotch, craft beer, good food and long walks on the beach. I wear glasses made of wood for the sole purpose of starting conversations and I fix elevators for money. This blog is my “I wish it was my full time job” job. I have a wife, a daughter and a shoe collection to rival most women made up of Adidas Gazelle’s, Superstars and Converse Chuck Taylor’s . My culinary experience includes stints at A&W and Dairy Queen in High School and one memorable day of catering with The Roaming Dragon. This is why I’m an “expert”. I live in Surrey and openly admit to living there unlike most people I know.

Sometimes I’m inventing food, sometimes I’m eating it, but let’s agree that food is awesome and it should be shared. My name is Rochele and I was the very first WFLBC intern, now a full blown, blogger and Twitter master. I love to cook and bake and I’m always searching for tasty, uncomplicated recipes. At the age of ten, my mom made me responsible for planning and executing one family dinner a week. It gave me a profound sense of creativity and I’ve never looked back. I appreciate food and when I find something good (or bad), I want to share it with you.
Bragging rights: my Yorkshire pudding/pop-overs always rise. The secret is to put a small amount of bacon fat in each cup, and put it in the oven at 450F until it is nearly smoking (between 3-5 mins) then add the batter. You’re welcome.
PS- Strawberry ice cream is where it’s at. This will be a recurring theme, you can count on it.
LOVE your blog! If you are ever in Nelson, BC you should check out BITE! AMAZING poutine, gourmet burgers & dogs.
