Surrey Canada Day 2012 with Sam Roberts and more!!

Surrey’s Canada Day festivities have grown to be the largest in western Canada drawing over 100,000 visitors to last years event. This year it’s looking like another blockbuster with everything from a freestyle motocross demo team, lots of fun activities for the kids, two stages featuring live music all day and a fireworks show to close out the evening. The Main Stage, presented by Chevron, will feature local favourite Hannah Georgas and 6 time Juno award winner Sam Roberts. The Second Stage, presented by 100.5 The Peak will feature the top 20 bands from it’s Peak Performance Project.

Last year’s event was crazy awesome, who will I see there this year?? Surrey Canada Day 2012 happens on Sunday July 1st (obviously…) at the Cloverdale Millennium Amphitheatre at the corner of 176th street and 64th Avenue and runs from 10am until 11pm (approximately) . Check out some videos from the artists featured at this years event below!!

  1. I know the city has been using the strip mall on 72ave and scott road(the one with the theater) as a main exmplae in what they like to see future development of strip malls to be like. I think its a good start to creating pedestrian friendly environments. While not the greatest it is better then the old style. If you look at future plans with Guildford mall they same idea is being applied there although they are running into problem with the Bay since in there contract there is something about only so much can be placed in front of it.
